This Privacy Statement describes how and when I, Marieke Miki - Illustration & Design, collect, use, and share information when you contact, or otherwise use my services through the site mariekemiki.com or its related sites and services. This Privacy Statement is for the website mariekemiki.com and governs the privacy of its users. This Privacy Statement does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Google, Etsy, Instagram, or any third party services you access through the site (which is supported by Google Site), listed below. 1. Information I collect I collect your personal data because you use my services and / or because you provide this information to me yourself. To contact me and work with me, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address and message via email/message via contact form and, if you work with me, additionally your postal address, payment information, your business VAT ID (if applicable of course), and the details of the service that you are ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of an illustration or poster, for example).
2. Special and/or sensitive personal data that I process My website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years old. Unless they have permission from parents or guardians. However, I cannot check whether a visitor is over 16. I therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, in order to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that I have collected personal information about a minor without this permission, please contact me at hello@mariekemiki.com, then I will delete this information.

For what purpose and on what basis I process your data I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including: - As needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil the service you ordered, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support; - Handling your payment; - Being able to call or email you if this is necessary to perform my services; - If necessary to comply with any applicable laws and regulations, a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchase and our working relationship if required by tax law; and - As necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as (a) providing and improving my services. 4. I do NOT use Automated Decision-Making I do NOT use Automated Decision-Making. These are decisions that are made by computer programs or systems, without a person (for example, an employee of Marieke Miki - Illustration & Design) is in between. I do NOT use any such computer programs or systems.

Information sharing and disclosure I do not sell your information to third parties and will only provide it if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows: - Compliance with laws. 6. How I collect information When you fill in the Google Contact Form on my website, as part of the process, I collect your name, your email address and the message you write. When you write me an email, I collect your email address and anything you share in the email message. When we start a working relationship together, after you contacted me, I will ask you to release, if necessary, information like your name, address, payment information and your business’s VAT ID. We will also enter a Project Information Agreement, in which more details about the project will be collected (see Terms & Prices). Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.
7. Data retention I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Statement. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 7 years, as determined by Dutch law. Since my website and email is run via Google, I store the information inside Google applications. 8. Transfers of personal information outside the EU I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
